Welcome to COAS, the College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences at Oregon State University.

COAS is internationally recognized for its faculty, research and facilities, including state-of-the-art computing infrastructure to support real-time ocean/atmosphere observation and prediction.

The College is a leader in the study of the Earth as an integrated system, providing scientific understanding to address complex environmental challenges.

Dean Mark Abbott was selected by Oregon Gov. Ted Kulongoski to co-chair the Climate Change Integration Group that will help the state address issues of climate change.

Abbott was appointed to the National Science Board, the governing body of the National Science Foundation.
